DetailNote in this article we will refer to these as "Site" level roles. But as part of customisation this may have another name on your system.
This article will also mention security levels, please see Roles and Data Room Security Levels for more information.
Configuring Site Level Roles
Make sure your admin role has Management Tools: Users (Current Client) checked.
- Create the following two roles making sure these are created in the master site not a client site, making sure you tick Admin: Is Client Level Role Template:
- Site Admin Template
- Management Tools: Users (Current Client) should be checked.
- Default Dataroom security level is recommended to be set to No Access (note see documentation on security levels to make sure this is setup).
- Only tick other permissions that are required to complete necessary task.
- Site Standard User Template
- Default Dataroom security level is recommended to be set to No Access (note see documentation on security levels to make sure this is setup).
- Note the above step only needs doing once on the system.
- In client site Go to Admin > Roles > Site Level Roles > Add following site level roles:
- Standard User, using Site Standard User Template.
- Admin, using Site Admin Template.
- You can have more Site Level Roles, but this is an example of setting up a common scenario.
- Go to Admin > Sites > Users and set Default role for new users to Standard User.
- Simple user admin can be accessed on page <SyseroURL>/ClientUsersPortal.aspx?companyid=x (where x = companyid or if on meny uses [CompanyID])
Using with Template Site
Above is an example of getting it working with an existing client site, if you want a site created with this all setup, do the same steps in template site (template sites have Is Template checked in Admin > Site settings). Any site then created from template will automaically have the Site Level Roles.
