Administration of the Job Scheduler is enabled by a Management Tools: Job Scheduler role permission and configured from Admin > Job Scheduler.

Before the Job Scheduler can be used the service needs to be setup.  You can tell if this is working by checking there is a recent update in the Log Entries.  The Job Scheduler Service should be setup by your Sysero support contact.

To setup your first Job follow these steps:

    1. From Schedules section create a new schedule.  This is how often it will be run.  Note if you set the Repeater interval as once per day, the job will execute at the start time, the end time is not relevant.  It is recommended you name the schedule based on when it will run not what it will run e.g. Morning every week day.
    2. From Jobs section click Add Job.
    3. In most cases the name of the Job will reflect which action needs to run, but there are scenarios where multiple actions will share a job.  In this example we are only adding one action to the job, so in this case an example would be e.g. Process List Sharing Users by Active Directory groups.
    4. Select the schedule this needs to run by.  You may want to leave this as manual initially and run it manually to test when setup is complete.
    5. Click Add Action and select the action you require, fill out any parameters it requires and save it.
    6. Some of the actions use Alerts to send individual user e-mails based on the result, others just confirm if the job has succedded.  So for example if using Process List Sharing Users by Active Directory groups action you only want to add the people that need to confirm that job is running successfully.
    7. Select the Alert template as created in Admin > Email Templates.  Note use the Psuedo code tag of [Actions] or [Action:name of action] to format the e-mail as required.
    8. Save the job and from the Job list test it and click the play icon.
    9. Go to Log Entries and click Refresh, confirm that job is running as expected.
