    Detail

The search box in Sysero will search the metadata (index fields) and text of all documents in the system and return a list of documents containing these words.  Your Sysero system can be configured to search in two ways: pessimistic or optimistic.

Optimistic searches will return all items that contain any of the words in the search box.  Pessimistic searches will return only items containing all the words in the search box. Optimistic searches return more items than pessimistic ones.  Regardless of the default configuration of your Sysero system you can force the system to work in an optimistic way by adding the keyword OR between each word, or a pessimistic way using the keyword AND between each word.  Note that keywords must be in upper case.

Another keyword that can be added between search terms is NOT which will exclude the following word.  Searches can combine any combination of keywords to help find the right document.

To really filter down a search, use double quotes to get a match on the exact phrase.

Most Sysero systems are configured with classifications which appear alongside the search results.  These can be used without putting in any search terms to browse the system.  Alternatively, they can be used in conjunction with the search.  Each classification contains item counts that update when a search is changed or more classifications selected.
